I am very surprised to find that "week number" or "work week number" is not
one of the options for formatting the interim date. Or in any of the date
format options for that matter.

How can I customize the date format to show week number? I believe the
format code in Project is "ww".

Thanks

Visio isn't Project. It only knows dates - not increment numbers.
It's a common request,

Could you explain what is an increment number in the context of Visio?

What about creating a custom formula in the Shapesheet that takes the data
fields that are available and calculating a standard calendar based week
number?

If this is a common request perhaps MS should add it as a basic option in
the Timeline tool.

By increment, I meant the standard types that you would find in a project
tool (such as Project). week1-week2-week3, month1-month2-month3, quarter1-,
etc.....
There are several examples of different timeline modifications over on Chris
Roth's site (www.visguy.com).

Thank you Al. After my last post I did find the instructional at visguy.com
for adding week numbers. This was exactly what I needed however I am having
trouble actually implementing it. I have logged many many hours on Excel,
PPT and Project and considered myself "Office savvy" but for some reason
Visio shapes and the "shapesheet" confounds me.

When I copy/pasted his formula into my shape it caused an error that I was
unable to debug. Also I still do not know how to make "week number" the
default format for interim dates when importing from Project.

If anyone has the time to dumb that down for me I would greatly appreciate
it.
