How can I add a second text label to connectors in Visio 2003?

I use Visio for AV schematics and would like to generate cable numbers. I
would like to add a cable number at the beginning and the end of each
connector line. Is it possible to add a second text label to a connector line
and position it wherever I wish? Or is there an easier way to label/number my
cable lines on my drawing?

Why don’t you just add a text box near the end of the connector? On the
standard toolbar locate the “Text Tool” it will have an icon with a capital
“A”. Once you click on the tool the mouse point will change to a cross with a
small box next to it. This represents it has activated the tool and now you
will be able to add a text box to a location on your drawing. Once the
desired text box has been added click the icon on the toolbar that looks like
a pointer, this will set it back to mouse point mode.
