I have an autocad drawing, and I want to covert it to
Visio format and make some edits in Visio. I go to File /
Open select a .dwg and click OK. The drawing is open
nicely, but all objects are in ONE entity and I can't
ungroup it. My question is: Is this a right way of
coverting a .dwg to Visio? Or ANY other way of converting
a autocad drawing to visio and able to make changes after
converting?

Did you make sure the grouped DWG was unprotected? I'm able to ungroup
AutoCAD drawings easily in Visio, but protection has to be disabled.

If you right-click the CAD object, you should see a CAD Drawing Object...
menu item at the bottom.

Cascade that menu itme and you'll see Convert....
